Q: How pure would the water REALLY be?
A: Of course water from the river has to be treated with a variety chemicals. They vary depending on the composition of the water at any given time. Also, those chemicals are costly. The City reported to the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee that for the last fiscal year, the chemicals cost $186,560. That will rise proportionately with the increase in water consumption.

A: This was answered by the City at the Ad Hoc meetings. The answer was that they would get to vote on the issue but would never be forced to "hook up" to the surface water.
